Bretton Woods 2.0 Again

A while back, I left a comment over at Larvatus Prodeo to a post on the financial crisis and I suggested that the need for new global financial regulation should be of the scope of a new Bretton Woods agreement. Some smart alecky commenter asked me to lay out what BW2.0.
Well, said smart alecky commenter should be happy, the Guardian has done the job of laying out the foundations of what such an agreement should cover in five key points:
- International institutions
- Global regulations
- Recapitalization and banks
- Fiscal / monetary policy
- New World Order
So, head on over there and read the whole thing. If I read this correctly, the days of the Washington consensus are over, along with the neo-liberal order although what will succeed (a Beijing Consensus?) remains unclear.
